We vertrouwen op onze herinneringen om ons te vertellen wie we zijn. Maar wat als die herinneringen verdwijnen? Wiens verhalen komen er daarvoor in de plaats? Dat is waar Phil (Bouli Lanners), een Waalse man op een afgelegen Schots eiland, mee worstelt. Na een hersenbloeding wordt hij wakker met geheugenverlies. Millie (Michelle Fairley), de dochter van Phils baas, ontfermt zich over hem. Ze helpt hem om weer aan zijn eigen leven te wennen, vertelt hem waar hij vandaan komt, waar hij wel en niet van houdt, en dat zij een geheime verhouding hadden. Het is weer voorzichtig aftasten, maar gaandeweg geven ze zich aan elkaar over. Oude liefde roest immers niet. Maar was het wel oude liefde? Nobody Has to Know is het Engelstalige speelfilmdebuut van regisseur Bouli Lanners (Les géants, Eldorado). Hij speelt zelf de hoofdrol, naast Games of Thrones-actrice Michelle Fairley. De film ging in première op het Toronto International Film Festival.
