How does Pathé Thuis work on a Smart TV?

Most supported Smart TVs come with the Pathé Thuis app pre-installed. If this is not the case, you may have to download the app manually. You can do so by going to the app store of your television. The app store can be found in the Smart environment, which is the environment where all the apps are located. In the app store, you can search for 'Pathé Thuis' and then install the app. Smart TVs have the option to connect to the network via both WiFi and an internet cable. Pathé Thuis recommends using a wired connection for an optimal connection.

After installation, you can find the app in the smart environment of your TV. After starting the app, you can log in with the email address and password you are using Pathé Thuis with. You can now buy and rent films via the Smart TV.

 

❗Please note: if a pin code is requested when buying or renting a film, you are not in the Pathé Thuis app, but in a KPN or Ziggo media box menu. You then rent a film via your KPN or Ziggo subscription. Although the menu is very similar to that of Pathé Thuis, they are two different systems. If you have any questions, please contact your internet and TV provider.

 

Pairing code (Koppelcode)
To log in to Pathé Thuis on your Smart TV, you may first have to pair it using a pairing code (koppelcode). With the pairing code, you can easily log in with your Pathé Thuis account on the TV.

1. There is a numerical code on the screen of your TV
   
2. Open the pairing page via another device
   
3. Log in with your Pathé Thuis account
   
4. Enter the code you see on the TV
   
5. Click 'Pair device'
   
6. You are now logged in to the TV

How do I use a voucher on my Smart TV?
To use your voucher or gift card on a Smart TV, follow these steps:

1. Open the Pathé Thuis app
   
2. Scroll to your profile
   
3. Click "Kadocode"
   
4. Enter your voucher code in the input field
   
5. Redeem the voucher code
   
6. Now will appear what films the voucher code is valid for, click this collection and find your film, enjoy watching!
   

Are you unable to redeem the gift code? Redeem the code on your phone/computer and then watch the film on your TV.

❗Please note: the vouchers cannot be redeemed at KPN and Ziggo, only at Pathé Thuis (and vice versa).
