An extra dimension
At Pathé, we strive to offer the finest experience in addition to the best films. That's why we regularly screen films in 3D. You probably know about it or have even seen a movie in 3D at some point. But how does this actually work?
RealD 3D is a popular 3D technology that you will find in our 4DX, Dolby Atmos and regular theaters. The projector switches between 2 (slightly) different images at lightning speed. This happens so fast that you cannot see it with the naked eye. In the 3D glasses there are 2 filters (circular polarization), one for the left eye and one for the right eye, putting the right image in the right eye.
The distance between your eyes allows you to see depth in everyday life. Both eyes see one separate image, making it possible to see an object. In a 3D movie, the distance between your eyes combined with the 2 different images creates the 3D effect. This makes it seem like the movie is really coming at you.

WHICH 3D GLASSES DO YOU NEED?
IMAX For an IMAX 3D show, you need IMAX Laser glasses. These can be recognized by the blue text 'IMAX with Laser' on the arms of the 3D glasses.
Regular Movies, 4DX & Dolby Atmos For a 3D, 4DX 3D and Dolby Atmos 3D screening you will need regular 3D glasses. These can be identified by the black text 'RealD' on the legs of the 3D glasses.
Dolby Cinema You get a loaner pair of glasses at the entrance to the theater that you return after the show. There is no need to bring your own 3D glasses.
All glasses cost € 2,- and can easily be purchased at the box office or online when buying tickets. With the exception of Dolby Cinema glasses, you can take your glasses home and use them again on your next visit.
