Escobar/Loving Pablo chronicles the rise and fall of the world’s most feared drug lord Pablo Escobar, and his volatile love affair with Colombia’s most famous journalist Virginia Vallejo throughout the reign of terror that tore a country apart.
Bardem and Cruz give outstanding performances, capturing the couple's volatile relationship in all its complexity. Disturbing and thought-provoking, Loving Pablo explores the political climate and corrupt society that allowed Escobar's ascent, while forcing us to question our own fascination with this inscrutable persona.
The premiere will be followed by director Fernando León de Aranoa.
Spanish wine, beer and Jamón Ibérico will be served after the premiere to welcome you to the festival on the opening night.
